Singapore Pavilion

It's the Singapore Pavilion, the musical box that was much talkabout back at home... oh... really, I couldn't find any 'elements' or the slightest resemblance with the Esplanade... haha... while queuing up to enter the pavilion, some locals were talking about the Esplanade, etc... haha... not at all, my heart said...

I was proud when I step into the pavilion... not because the exhibition or the showcase was extraordinary. In fact, it's like 'promoting' Singapore as a tourist attraction. I was proud because I'm a Singaporean. We are proud to have a landmark of our own in this Expo. Indeed, I visited some other pavilions... and there are some very pathetic ones... So, be thankful that we have something that is decent and have some stuff that excite visitors.

Well, this is a very simple concept... simply beaming the images from the top, of course it will turn out to be small... with the little 'fan' issued to all visitors upon entry, we simple raise the fan (with the white space facing up), it will reduce the distance between the projection and the surface, hence, enlarging the beamed content, and it's easier to read. So, the experience is like, using the 'fan', one could 'pick' up the circles to read about the information.

OK, this is certainly some kind of fashion that I could not recognise...

Featuring unique flavours of Singapore - be it food or design... well, to get the images out, the visitor has to "beat" the drum... the harder they bit the images appear faster... so I guess, it's trying to incorporate 'interactivity" into the exhibition.

The world's first night race was also featured here...
The way leading to the theatre was lined up with posters of our founding fathers like Stamford Raffles, Tan Kok Seng, MM Lee... and also posters that depicts the present Singapore lifestyles (as a garden city).

Well, inside the theatre, visitors sat on the carpeted floor to watch a multi-projected clip about Singapore's effort in improving the quality of living... with Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew being the narrator.

Something I would remember... He said that while we made provisions to improve the environment for Singapore to become a World Class City, we need to have World Class Citizens! Yes! I fully agree with it... That is a means to sustainability... otherwise, we will forever be losing the battle...
